Language for Living

Event Date: October 7-8, 2010

Language for Living is meant to be used with all ages, and is especially useful with teenagers and adults with very limited communication and language skills, especially those with whom communication and language are no longer expected.

Participants can Earn 14 CEU credits toward their BACB certification.

Location: West River Conference Centre
Woodbridge, Ontario
Date: October 7-8, 2010

Colloquium Objectives:

At the conclusion of the workshop, the participant will be able to do the following:

  1. conduct an assessment using Language for Living
  2. select an appropriate communication response form for three sample students
  3. be able to write individualized education program goals based on an assessment using Language for Living
  4. be able to describe teaching procedures appropriate for specific skills.

On July 8th the 10th Annual Swinging for Autism Golf Tournament took place at the beautiful Kleinburg Golf Club. Over 200 golfers, friends, and supporters participated in one of the Shining Through Centre’s primary fundraising events.

St. Louis Bar and Grill hosted its 1st Annual Charity Baseball Tournament. The proceeds from the tournament were donated to Shining Through Centre for Children with Autism.
